Park Royal on Kitchener Road (Battle Of The Crab Feast Buffet)
Hello guys!
I'm back again with another post, and this time, I can't wait to share my experiences at Park Royal's Battle Of The Crab buffet!
Park Royal has been making waves with its annual crab buffets, and after experiencing this year's buffet, I dare say that it is something that you should not miss, not for the world. From 17 September 2015, every Thursday to Saturday at Spice Brasserie, PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road.
Executive Chef Low Hoe Kiat draws inspiration from around Asia to serve up the freshest crustaceans in twelve different flavours, ranging from classic tastes to modern twists.
Here were the list of crab dishes that day:
1. Slow-braised Pumpkin Crab in Claypot
2. Baby Crab Salad with Green Mango
3. Steamed Marinated Spicy Crab with Light Sauce
4. Stir-fried Crab with Jalapeno and Fermented Black Beans
5. Stewed Kimchi Crab 6. Wok-fried Crab with Garlic and Scallion
7. Salted Egg Yolk and Butter Crab
8. Braised Bee Hoon Crab
9. Authentic Singapore Chilli Crab
10. Black Pepper Crab
11. Crab Soup with Fish Maw 12. Rock salt-crusted Crab
Other than the classic Singaporean favourites like Chilli Crab and Black Pepper Crab, Chef Low introduces a refreshing take to the splendid spread of crustaceans by introducing other spectacular flavours of crabs such as Kimchi, Pumpkin and Pork Floss which tops are their crowd favourite. Best part is that ALL of them are Sri Lankan crabs, so you can expect to be treated to a feast of fleshy and succulent crabs.

Out of all that we tasted, the Pumpkin Crab and Kimchi Crab were my favourites. The Pumpkin Crab came with a hearty pumpkin broth which was a joy to savour and everyone just kept reaching for seconds. We also paired the pumpkin gravy with french loafs and it was just so good, with a delectable mix of lightly spiced, creamy golden-yellow gravy and sweet crab meat! Kimchi Crabs were another highlight of the night, and everyone loved it so much that it was gone from the buffet spread within seconds!
Another new dish this year features the mouth-watering Baby Crab Salad with Green Mango inspired by Thailand, using a combination of tart mango and salty-sweet shrimp paste dressing as the perfect starter to whet your appetite.
Other than the Battle Of The Crabs buffet, the Asian Temptation buffet is also served alongside with it and which features an amalgamation of Asian and Western cuisines. Other seafood such as prawns, yebi, mussels and scalops were also available that night!
