With the erratic weather in Singapore these days, it is important to keep your skin well-protected from the harmful sun rays. The notion of beauty always begins with healthy skin, and it isn't difficult, nor does it have to cost much for you to achieve that!

While choosing a sunscreen, it is important to make sure that it offers long-lasting,
stable protection against both UVA and UVB rays. The Sun Protection factor (SPF) and
the PA rating measures the protection against UVB rays and UVA rays respectively.

1. Sun Protection factor (SPF)
o Measures how long you can stay in the sun without the sunscreen before
getting burned.
o For example – Applying a sunscreen with SPF 30 means it will take 30
minutes longer for your skin to get burn.
o SPF protection alone is not enough as it measures the protection against the
sunburn caused by UVB rays only – not UVA.

2. PA rating
o A sunscreen with a PA rating means it blocks UVA rays.
o The more the “+” signs it has, the higher the UVA protection.
o Protection against UVA rays is important because UVA rays have a longer
wavelength and they penetrate deeper

Neutrogena is one of the few brands in Singapore that boasts sun care protection for both the face and body, and has a wide range of cleansers, make-up removers, moisturizers and whitening solutions.
It is also the #1 dermatologist recommended suncare brand in USA!

Also, they have recently introduced Neutrogena Helioplex™ Technology, that contains FDA-approved sunscreens covering the full UVA and UVB spectrum.

Though many sunscreens offer protection from UVA rays, this protection starts to break
down when your skin is exposed to the sun. Helioplex™ prevents this from happening
by stabilizing UVA protection so that even under highly intensive sunlight, you can be
assured that your sun protection does its job more effectively over a longer period of
time (up to 5 – 6 hours).

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch SPF 30+ PA+++, 80g (face and body)

The Neutrogena sunblock can serve as a protection for both your face and body. It also has a thicker consistency for more coverage! I would usually try not to use sunblock (Ok I know it's really detrimental to my skin hahaha) but because I don't really like how it leaves an oily residue on my skin. This though, made my skin feel really soft after application!

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer UV Waterlight SPF 50+ PA+++, 30 ml (face)

The consistency for this is slightly thinner, and it is easier for it to be absorbed into your face.
Applying this sun screen did not make my face feel sticky or oily! For those who are looking for a sun screen with a thicker consistency, you can also try the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer UV Moisture SPF 50+ PA+++

The Neutrogena Suncare series can be found at the various personal beauty stores and major super markets.
