Music for the soul
Hello there!
I haven't been able to document many of my thoughts recently since well, I have been caught up with school work quite a bit! The week is finally coming to an end, and so are the impending assignments and presentations. My blog has recently been an outlet for me to post reviews and advertorials, not much of personal updates so do bear with me for a bit! 2015 started off with a bang, and it's still going really well for me (if you don't count the financial crisis sigh). Okay, I shall tread on this topic with discretion like what I've promised myself from the start because there. are. consequences. But yes yes yes it's like all the love quotes and songs now make sense and I can't help but wake up feeling really loved and blessed every day. :> :> :>
Ok moving on.
I don't think I have done this before, but I have recently been hooked on certain songs which I wanna shareeeee! I don't think I have addressed this particular topic on my blog before, not because I find that it is irrelevant but more like it has never crossed my mind. I think music really speaks to one's soul, and I am a strong believer of how one's playlist can tell a lot about a person's personality too. I'm going to share with y'all 5 of my "most-played" or favorite songs recently and I hope that some of them catches onto you!
1) The One - Kodaline
What happened to be a chanced encounter turned out to be one of the most played songs in my playlist. Yes, I think everything in the song makes total sense because I am a hopeless romantic like that. But I mean, it's Kodaline!!!! How can anyone not love Kodaline?!
2) Promises - Ryn Weaver
I know the starting part of the song but seem a little technoish or irritating but do listen on! This is my no.1 played song on ITunes with a record of 966 times (967 now). I think I have sent this to anyone who asked me to recommend them a song.
Definitely underrated.
3) Reflections - Misterwives
I first chanced upon this song in H&M (Their playlist was good!) and got hooked ever since. This was a song that I thought no one ever listened to, until one day I found out that my significant other also did and I was like say whaaaaaat are you fo real. But really. the female lead's vocals are reaaaaaaally good.
Oh, I slotted Coffins under Reflections because Taylor Swift recommended this song to one of her broken-hearted fans and one simply does not ignore music recommendations from TSwizzle. It's one of my favorites too.
4) Love Lost - The Temper Trap
I was hooked onto this song for a period of time, stopped, and got back on after hearing snippets of it on No Strings Attached. For those who have not watched the movie, please please please please do! It's one of the better romantic comedies around.
5) Stolen - Dashboard Confessionals
This has been in my playlist since I was in Secondary 3, and I don't think any other song has been on the list for so long. There's just something about the beats that make it so addictive.
These are just my top few choices, but I'm also a sucker for songs from bands like One Republic, The Script, Monsters and Men etc etc etc. Oh and TSwizzle and Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and many other main-stream artists. I think my music preferences have changed quite a little as age catches on (Omg I need to stop making myself sound so old).
I love how some songs are able to document a phase of a person's life, just like how these 5 did.
