Will we ever know?

And then you ask, why do people still bother to fall in love? Why do we still consciously step into the dwindling path when we aren't sure what's gonna be at the end of the tunnel? 

I once had a friend that told me. That no matter what, when two people get into a relationship, they will either break up, or end up getting married. Hearing this scared me, because it never occurred to me that things were this absolute. That there were no grey areas when it comes to matters of the heart. Even if you choose to date for a prolonged period of time for the fear of commitment, one party will eventually get sick of the routine and demand an ultimatum, which well.... can end both ways. You can't be in limbo forever. 

Fact is, nothing in life is ever predictable. 

There're many things in life which we'll never know the answers to. 

Feelings do get hurt but in the end, people still grow - even if they grow apart. In the end, there's always light at the end of the tunnel. But it depends on when you see it, and who you see it with. It could be the most magnificent glow you'll witness with your other half. A step forward with him/her which you felt you should have taken a long time ago. Who knows, things might not turn out how you expected. You might even experience it alone and realize that you're okay with it after all. I would like to call it Growth. How this light gives us a form of enlightenment that sometimes, being by yourself can be a wonderful thing too.

So go on, live a little.
Take that leap of faith and fall.
