Summer 2014 - Internship at Food For Thought
This summer, I had the privilege of doing my internship with The Thought Collective under the arm of Food For Thought. Prior to this, I've had countless of friends telling me that it would be a great opportunity to do an internship under them, and that many of their friends who had done so have gained many things out of this experience. Knowing so, it got me feeling even more stressed up before the interview because I didn't know what to expect from such an esteemed company, and I wasn't sure if I would be able to make my duly contributions to them.
But little did I know that it would be one of my best working experiences ever.
Small cafes unite sessions
9am events and Mac breakfasts
Food Tasting session in line with our new menu
Throughout the 3 months, I got to learn countless of skills, witnessed a couple of events and also dealt with countless of customers whom I still feel like slapping. But more importantly, it made me grow as a person and also challenged my aspirations for the future. It sort of also provided me with a direction of what I wanted to do when I graduate, and that I was really keen into the field of events planning. Everyone at FFT was genuinely nice and we were more like a family than colleagues, always there to support one another and to give our best.
Being part of the internship prog, we also had to clock in hours at our cafe and it also allowed me to meet various friends and people from all walks of life. More importantly, it got Arsyad and I even closer as friends. A month back, he also started working at FFT and it felt really great to be working with one of my bestest friends, goofing around during cafe duty, pulling off long hours, whining about not having our TGIF and chionging to Aston after our shift in hopes of getting a good dinner. Hahaha.

Clarence, the other FFT intern
Also the guy whom I work closely with and the one who drives me crazy (Ok we drive each other crazy).
Our illegal bookie + Taobao clique
It was also because of them that I stepped into Singapore Pools for the first time in my life during the World Cup period. Huehuehuehue
Joyce, my dear boss no. 2
I'm thankful for our little affinity this summer, and thank you for being a part of my life. In a way, I missed out on going for Summer but I got such a wonderful working experience in exchange. :)
