Food Review: Paradise Dynasty + Happy National Day!
Haven't been reviewing much of cafes lately because I feel like I should do something more mainstream once in a while. Since I did something on my favorite Jap restaurant not long ago, I'm gna do one on the Chinese restaurant I frequent most often. What they're famous for:
Colored Xiao Long Baos
Atmosphere: 7/10
Food: 8/10
Price: 7/10
Service: 8/10
(They do not allow reservations, so it's better to head down early to queue for seats)
Also, I went to the outlet at Causeway, so the signature XLB only had 4 flavors. For the ones with 8 flavors, do visit the one at Orchard Ion.
We had:
1) La Mian with Pork Dumpling in Hot Chili Sauce - $8.80
My favorite La Mian from this restaurant. It might get a little too spicy so it's not recommended for people who can't take chili. Comes with 5 huge pork dumplings in Sze Chuan sauce, like the ones you get at Swee Choon or any other dimsum places.
2) Signature Dynasty Xiao Long Bao - $13.80
Comes in Cheesy, Crab Roe, Foie Gras and Original Flavor. I loved Foie Gras the best, with its distinct flavor and cheesy following close behind. :)
3) Braised Lava Egg - $1.80 (per egg)
Similar to the ramen poached eggs. Just that the egg yolk isn't as runny in the middle.

Service:
Service was really prompt and the food was served pretty quickly. The servers were very friendly and detailed with following up on our orders. :)
Atmosphere:
Great for family gatherings or just a simple chinese lunch or dinner at a really affordable price. I would choose this over Crystal Jade anyday. :)

Met up with Jolin to check out the Miyoc Warehouse Sales too. Hehe was so stoked that it was just a few blocks away from my house and it was the first time something good was happening this close to me. Turns out that the sales was not bad at all, and we managed to bag home quite a number of really nice items at a heavily discounted price. I was trying to console myself the whole time as I wouldn't exactly be shopping anymore once school starts. So okay, gave myself a little leeway that day. Haha!

In the blink of an eye, the 3 month holiday is finally over. It was prolly the best summer I could ever asked for, and the friendships I've formed during the past 3 months were really wonderful. With the end of this long break, it's finally time to get my study mode on again and retreat back to my cave - which means lesser food reviews and updates. Doubt I'll get the time to review much next sem, since I've a CAP to save. I've one last review on Little Diner coming up and then off I go.
Do stay tune to this space though. I think I might just come back more often then I intended to. Haha, well, I do need an outlet to vent if things get too over-whelming in the cave too.
See you! :)
