Food Review: Kazokutei
Kazokutei has always been one of my go-to Jap fusion restaurant on days when I just want to have a quick meal fix. Its my next-best Jap alternative apart from Ichiban Boshi (Review coming up soon) and Itacho Sushi, which are my top fav Jap restaurants.Address:
Bishan, Junction 8
#02-34/35/35A
What they're famous for:
Omu Rice and Variety of Udon/Soba
Atmosphere: 7/10
Food: 8/10
Price: 8/10
Service: 6/10
Promotions:
Lunch Specials every Monday - Friday till 5pm, and you'll get $2 off all Omu Rice and Udon sets at a special price.
We had:
Mango Cooler - $2
Got this at a cheaper price when purchased with my Omu Rice set. Nothing much to rave about. Just mango syrup with soda.
Zaru Soba Set with Tempura Set - $14.90
The soba noodles were pretty thick and the sauce that accompanied it was not too salty. The tempura had a good mix of vegetables and a fried ebi (prawn). The portion was huge so it was worth the money, though I've tried better sobas elsewhere.
Omu rice set with Tofu Hamburg and Tori Karage - $10.90
For this at just $10.90, it was a steal. It came with soup, a tofu hamburg patty, 3 pieces of chicken karage, fries and veg. It's always a must-order for me whenever I visit Kazokutei because of the Omu Rice. It had a good blend of tomato paste and seasoning and it was topped off with an omelette and their in-house sauce which was perfection. Do do do give this a try. You won't regret it. :)
Service:
Service was really slow that day because it took quite some time for the food to arrive. We had to request countless of times just for water, and the service staff had this unhappy face plastered to them which was not very pleasant. I would rather going to the Bugis' outlet in the future.
Atmosphere:
Great for a quick meal fix or an inexpensive lunch/dinner with good food.

Met up with Carina that day for a quick meal before settling our stuff for sixtoten since we were both craving for Japanese food but were too broke to have something too expensive. Hehe.
Always great meeting up with her. :)
Hope you found this useful. :)
Till then!
