We had:

IMG_2990

Truffle Fries - $12.90
(Steak house fries tossed with truffle sea salt, truffle oil and served with a truffle dip)

I felt that the portion for this was too small, given the price we paid. I'm a fan of steak house fries because I feel that I get to taste the full truffle flavor with such chunky fries so I loved this! The truffle dip was amazing and went really well with the fries. First place I know that serves truffle dips. :)

Pavlova - $8
(Crispy meringue, passion fruit, strawberries, mango, mint topped with vanilla bean cream)

This was a little too sweet for our liking. We all thought that it was some eggs benny dish when it arrived because it looked similar but turns out that they were meringue. Haha! The fruits were fresh and had their own natural sweetness.

Arbite Breakfast - $15.90
(Scrambled eggs, bacon, baked beans, grilled tomato, veal bratwurst, sautéed mushrooms, toasted brioche and pommes noisettes)

Second time I've been to arbite and also the second time I'm ordering this. The big breakfast never fails to satisfy my love for such great variety of morning goodness. Best part was the bacon, scrambled eggs and toast. The bacon was not salty at all and the scrambled eggs were done to perfection. I felt that the toast was pretty special because it was also crispy on the inside and I had it with my usual combination of butter and fine sugar. The veal bratwurst was pretty amazing too. :)

Smoked Salmon Croissant - $14.90
(Smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, capers with a buttery croissant and served with a side of fresh greens)

Had a try of their buttered croissant and it was sooo good! I didn't try much of this but looking at how great my scrambled egg tasted and how smoked salmon can never go wrong, I would say that this dish must have been really something.

Pancakes - $14.90
(Layers of fluffy pancakes, caramelised bananas in a luscious caramel sauce and a touch of sea salt )

Not a fan of walnuts or sea salt! The pancakes were fluffy enough to my liking and my friends really liked it, so, do try! :)

Spinach and Ricotta Quiche - $14.90
(Ricotta cheese, eggs, chopped spinach and semi sundried tomatoes in a flaky tart served with a side of fresh greens)

I felt that the portion of this was pretty small and well for that, $14.90 was a tad pricey. It tasted just so-so to me and I felt that the quiche I had at Drips Bakery Cafe was even better and much much cheaper. So I don't think I'll order this again.

Service:
I was quite surprised that they did not serve us iced water until my friends decided to do some self-servicing on their own and they noticed. The food was served promptly though! And the service staff was patient with our orders.

Atmosphere:
It was a tad cramp for such a large group of us but I would say that if you're coming in 2 or 4s, it would be pretty comfy. A great place to chill on a lazy afternoon or for a slow brunch/dinner.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, last Saturday saw the 10 of us at Arbite for a farewell dinner for Donovan who was leaving to France for 5 months for exchange (Sigh, like everyone's leaving already) and also another opportunity for the few of us to meet up after forever. Most of the time, we're all too caught up with our busy schedules that we hardly ever have time to catch-up, so Saturday served as a good way for us to find ourselves into one another's lives again. These Arane people were my first friends from school in NUS. :)

It was also great that D actually reads my blog so he knew exactly how I was going to take the pictures of the food when they arrived. Haha! Thankful that I had Zhihua to accompany me with it too. She's also someone whom I can always go to for opinions on food photography because she's just as stringent about it as I am on the presentation. Hehe.

The "behind the scenes" of every food review. (Thanks D! hahaha)

(Spot the cover boy hahaha.)

So that marked the end of our short meet-up/brunch. Have a safe trip to France, Donovan! Eat lots of macaroons, travel as much as you can around the city and take lots of amazing pictures (which you usually do) and post them up on Insta! Hope to see you when you're back. :)

And thanks so much for the gift girls!!! I really, really loved it. :)

Till then!
Hope this review helped!
