Sawadee kap! (Part 2)
VIEW Part one HEREBefore I begin this post, I would like to thank a very special friend of mine who has accompanied me through my ups and downs throughout my whole BKK trip. She was the one who withstood all my nasty demands, bagging all my burdens and baggages without a qualm. She walked through different malls with me, never failing to rest and stop even when my legs felt like they were giving way. There might have been occasions when I took advantage of her niceness, when people stared and judged at how I was trying to lug her along with me, but never was I ashamed to show her off to everyone.

Thank you, my hugeass green trusty plastic bag. You were stronger than all the other plastic bags, and made life much easier for me when I could just stuff all my buys into you without needing to request for an additional bag. You have no idea how much joy you brought to the stall owners when they realized that they could save on an additional plastic bag with you around. You made them flash me that precious smile of theirs. Which I never got because they were too annoyed with my bargaining demands until you came along.
My friends all knew how much you meant to me. And whenever I fished you out, they would immediately go
"Ok, Cassan's engine start liao."
Hahahaha.
Okay back to topic.
Day 2 started off with us waking up early for our Hotel buffet! More yum yum in our tum tum this time. And not to forget, I had my fair share of supper with S the night before so I can't imagine how much calories I had incurred from the previous night. But moving on....
The buffet spread was really good! Scrambled eggs, baked beans, pancakes, yoghurt drink, congee, noodles, cereal, pastries, toast, pasta, fried rice, salad, fruits, bacon, sausages........ you name it, they have it. Even if they don't, they'll prepare it for you. It was a fusion buffet and never have I had such a satisfying breakfast till date.
And since S crashed with us and didn't get to have the hotel breakfast, we headed to Macs after that for breakfast with him! And surprise surprise, the Macs there was so ahead of the minion fever that they were already at the last series. Sigh, just our luck. I was hoping to get the yellow ones so badly but that was already out of the cycle. :'(
Mandatory shot with the Thai Ronald Macdonald! Sawadee kappppp.
And then it was back to the shopping fever! Everything on the racks were so tempting but we had to keep to our tight budget between 100-300 baht in order to survive. But still, to my horror, I was already broke enough by the end of the second day that I had to exchange the SGD that I brought.
I was heavily in debt from my friends but C was super happy because she could get back all her Sing dollar from us. She was like a walking money changer throughout the trip. EXTREMELY THANKFUL FOR HER YAAAA. Hahaha.
And then back to the hotel after hours and hours of shopping to deposit our baggage and to rest our feet.
Lunch for the daaaaaay. Or lua, Yakitori stick, Pig trotter rice, Crispy pork rice, quail eggs and mango sticky rice! Finally got to try out all the dishes that they're famous for. Well, sort of. :)
Major gap and lack of photos at this part. Continued shopping after lunch and headed to Pratunam after that for awhile to rackey the place and continue shopping and shopping and shopping before conquering it the next day. Didn't capture much photos beacuse the whole place was so freakishly crowded and squeezey with roadside vendors and shoppers hogging the main road. Plus I was pretty afraid that my things would be pick-pocketed so....... paranoid mode: ON.
Went back to the hotel after that for Shawn to pack his stuff before leaving for his flight. Continued our shopping trip but this time at a supermart which we also managed to bag some clothes and food back. (LOL shows what shopaholics we are) The bacardi breezers in BKK were soooooo cheap at only $2 plus SGD per bottle!!!
And then, the night market!!!! Where we continued shopping and got souvenirs for our friends too :)
(Spot my green trusty plastic bag)
Baskin robbins for the night before heading back to the hotel to pack, as well as Mac's EXTRA LARGE fries which I fell in love with because it was as huge as my head.
SEE!
And this concludes the second day of our trip at BKK. If you realized, as the days went by, it was just filled with more and more retail therapy, and since we already tried all the food that has to be eaten, we did not exactly try them again (My mom lectured me on the amt of calories the quail eggs had :() HAHA. But yeah, it became a eat-shop-rest-eat-shop-eat-sleep routine for us. Oh, and not to forget, supper!!!! (Bound to put on lots of weight when you're in BKK)
Will be combining the 3rd and the last day together in another post!
Till then! :)
