Our trip to SPCA!
This was a rather delayed trip for us since we've been wanting to visit SPCA since last year before Shawn sailed off but haven't had the time to get down to it. But on Tuesday, we finally did! Best decision ever, we swear. It came as a rather big surprise actually, when we realized that we could actually go inside the cages to interact with them. We were more of in a "Okay lor, let's just go inside walk one round and come out" mood but ended up staying in there for hours. I think my nurturing instincts for pets are starting to show haha.Began the day with Prata @ Upp Thomson! I still think that the prata there beats the one at Jalan Kayu, though it might get a little tad oily.
And then off we wenttttt!
Meet Mona!
Shana, our ah girl and Shawn's anchor
My little princess!!! She was super adorbz I swear.
Huge-ass Blitz!
Wheeps, haha didn't mean to spam photos but all of them were so incredibly adorable! Most of the dogs there were hugeee but extremely friendly. We were a little intimidated to visit some of them at first because they seemed pretty ferocious, but we were proven to be very wrong. Each of them welcomed us with open paws and were so excited that there were people to play with. The 3 furballs were the cutest, with ah girl being so fluffy, affectionate and lazzzy that reminded me so much of Cookie.
Being a dog owner myself, having a pet isn't easy. It comes with many unforeseen commitments and restricted freedom, which has accompanied me since I was P2 when I decided to keep Cookie. There were things that he damaged, soft toys of mine that eventually became his, but the joy he brought to my family was endless. He's greediness knows no end too. That boy's a sucker for dairy products I swear. Milk, cheese, cheesecake, butter..... you name it, he loves it.
It would be great to have people who are kind enough to adopt these animals from the shelter to give them a home that they deserve. Just like humans, they want to feel loved and cared for too. But then again, it's important to know the responsibilities that come along with it before making a decision. To you, they might just be a pet, but to them, you're their everything.
Left the place just when it was about to close and since it was still early, I decided to bring S to Wimbly Lu since that cafe was not far away from us!
Iced Ribena, Choc Marshmallow Pie (One of their specialities), Root beer cake with ice-cream.
Chanced upon the Root Beer cake on the menu and since it looked pretty interesting, we decided to give it a try. And nope it did not disappoint! It tasted exactly like the drink itself and the Vanilla ice-cream that accompanied it really complemented the cake well. Wheeeps, do try when you're there next time! :)
And thennnnnn, an impromptu trip to the Waterfront since my tuition happened to be cancelled for that night. This is one of my favorite places in Singapore so far, with Malaysia just an arm's length away (ok ok, understatement but it looked so near!!!!), and a great scenery at night. Its the best place for fireworks too btw. :)
I've a maki-san review coming up and then BKK part 2!!!
I'm constantly struggling with the thought of being on a diet and resisting my temptation for good food. I've been trying my best to be on a cleanse ever since I was back from BKK because I know how things might go downhill during my birthday week. Stay tuned for more food reviews coming up this week :)
Till then!
