We had:

IMG_0549
Fruit Salad - $8
(Mixed fruit salad with honey citrus dressing and plain yoghurt)

Fruits consist of grapes, bananas and strawberries. I didn't exactly like the strawberries as they tasted pretty sour but the yoghurt went really well with the rest of the fruits. Pretty good for an appetizer. :)

Eggs Benny - $16
(Poached eggs on warm brioche with smoked ham, mesclun greens, breakfast potatoes and fruit salad)

Wow, the portion was hugeeeee. Most of the eggs benny I usually have would just consist of eggs, ham, toast and greens. This even came with the fruit salad (just like the one we ordered above) and potatoes, which was also the highlight of the dish as it tasted really good. It came with a hint of spiciness and the poached eggs were done to perfection. The hollandaise was a little garlic-ky and being a fan of garlic, it was a major thumbs up!

Mentaiko Pasta - $18
(Spaghetti tossed in creamy mentaiko, topped with more cod fish roe)

Everyone knows that whenever you visit Five and Dime, this dish is a MUST TRY. And even if you didn't know, now you do. Basically, this is just a simple dish of spaghetti with truckloads of Mentaiko (fish roe) with an extremely distinct taste. Definitely worth a try. I felt like I was in a relationship with JH's pasta the entire time he was having it hahaha.

Chocolate Creme Brulee - $12
(Flavor changes everyday, so do check with your server before ordering)

And just so that we got Chocolate. Sighhhh, I'm not a big fan of chocolate. But biasness aside, the raspberry that accompanied this dish went really well with the creme brulee. They used dark choc so it tasted a little bitter, and the sweet and sour aftertaste of the raspberries really neutralized the different flavors. So chocolate fans, do give it a try! I thought it was a little pricey though.

Service:
The service staff was pretty attentive though there were certain occasions that we had to wait for quite a while before they noticed us. Food came pretty promptly, and being two extremely hungry souls, it was definitely a plus point. Drinks were re-filled regularly and the staff were very friendly.

Atmosphere:
Was really in love with the atmosphere of this place because it was extremely quaint, and quiet (Claudia you'll love it). Well, I don't think many people knew how to come since this place was rather isolated and we had to take a cab there from Somerset MRT. Great place to chill and have a good, long catch-up with your friends. Though I wouldn't recommend chilling alone nor large group gatherings since it's really inaccessible. :( There're buses but none of them led us back to town. :'(

Met up with Jun Hong after a gazillion billion yearsssss, like finally. Haha I think the last time we saw one another was a year ago? And we've all been too caught up with our own lives (him with army, and me with my studies) to have time to catch up. And just so that he had his off today, so yay! He's one of the closest friends I got out of CCC (other than Wenda), and also someone that's worth keeping around. :) And speaking of which, really gotta find a time that all 3 of us can meet! Sigh.

The rest of the afternoon was spent catching up with one another and shopping for him.

Had so much fun dressing him up like he was my human barbie or something. Haha! It was like we could just walk into a random store and I would grab something and go "nah, go and try" or "eh, i never see you wear something like this before leh" and we'll spend the next 30 to 45mins in the fitting room deciding whether the piece suited him or not.

And here's a few shots of him getting fitted because his shirts and pants were all TOO LONGGGGGGG. Hahaha.

And then the both of us continued walking around, got really tired after all that shopping, and decided to head back.
#sorryiknowthisisreallyanticlimax. Haha.

Hope you found my review useful!
Till then!
