Food review: Food For Thought (Singapore Botanical Gardens)
Address:
8 Queen St
Singapore 188535
What they are famous for:
All day Breakfast & Pancakes.
Atmosphere: 7/10
Food: 7/10
Price: 6/10
Service: 6/10
We had:
Creamy Chicken Pesto Linguine - $16
This had a good mix of shredded chicken, roasted tomatoes, eggplant and zucchini. Its the type of dish that tastes extremely good when you first have it but also the kind where you would get sick of in no time. IMHO, it's too creamy for me, not something that I would order in the future.
Full works - $20
So so so worth the money as the portion was humongous! Bacon, Toast, scrambled egg, garlic mushrooms, chicken sausage, hashbrowns and tomato salad. Don't underestimate breakfast sets. They look more filling than they seem.
Banana and walnut pancakes - $13
Banana and walnut pancakes with Gula Melaka syrup and whipped cream at the sides. They were considerate enough to separate them from the pancakes in case it turns soggy. The pancakes were so-so.
It was mostly self-service as we had to proceed to the counter to order and pay. However, the food arrived quicker than expected and being two starving souls, that was a major plus point. I was pretty surprised that they didn't offer us iced water though. :(
Atmosphere:
Great for family outings as the restaurant is hugeeeee. Not exactly cosy, but great for big group gatherings. :)
Anddddddddddddd, not to forget our camwhore shots. Sotongz and I were pretty excited after looking at their breakfast menu. Silly me thought that their breakfast ends at 5pm and we had to cab down only to realize that they serve all day breakfast. Thank God we were in the vicinity, if not the cab fare would have cost us a bomb.
The heat at Botanical gardens didn't allow us to stay for long. We were both sweating like pigs within half an hour after getting out of the air-conditioned restaurant. Hehe, but I'm glad to have a good cam-whoring budd like A. Caught "Now you see me" before that and it was pretty mind-blowing, I must say. Okay, word of advice: Just don't get your hopes up too high and it'll be a good movie. I think we were both too excited for it that it turned out to be a little meh for us. :/
Lastly, contrary to popular belief, we're not together hahaha.
Okay,
till then!
